Custom Wedding Album – Krista + Hunter

I love wedding albums. When I began my photography business I thought that my job was simply to provide beautiful images to my clients and the product selection was up to them. However, the longer I shoot weddings the more I realize how invaluable a wedding album truly is. This book showcases one of the best days of your life. It’s an heirloom that will be passed down from generation to generation. The only images your great-grandchildren ever see of you will most likely be contained within your wedding album. It’s your wedding newscast to the world: the documentary evidence of who you were as an individual, and who you became as a couple. It’s the beginning of your long love story and the definitive moment that you choose your partner and the direction of your life.

When I work on album designs I always think of my grandparent’s wedding album. Every time we visited them I would sit next to the coffee table and flip through the pages looking at relatives I’d never met and ones I knew looking young and happy. That book is a visual testament to a couple who met, fell in love, and made a life together. It tells a story of a life that I was not a part of but to which I am forever connected. This is what I want to re-create for my clients and their families.

With that in mind here are a few images of my latest album to come in from the printer – Krista and Hunter’s album. I hope they and their great-great-grandchildren love it as much as I do.

Brownwood Wedding – Kelsey + Stoney

Kelsy and Stoney’s wedding had so many beautiful and personal details I don’t know where to begin. Every little detail was carefully created and crafted by their family and friends, who spent days and weeks preparing the grounds of Kelsy’s childhood home for this wedding. Kelsey’s mother Karen gathered together an endless supply of unique vintage furniture, candles, antiquities, apothecary goods, tableware and even the chandeliers from Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton’s wedding. Karen will be opening the property as a wedding and reception venue called Sparkles and Spurs here shortly. Abilene Wedding – Jennifer + Matt

Jennifer and Matt had rain on their wedding day – which many people would be disappointed with but I thought it just added one more layer of sparkle to their dazzling and elegant wedding. The ceremony was held at the historic Grace Museum in downtown Abilene. With it’s black and white marble floors and gold filigree capped teal columns the museum served as a dramatic backdrop for Jennifer and Matt’s emotional ceremony, filled with traditional Mexican symbols like silver coins and a lazo (white rope draped in a figure eight over the couple). The reception was held at another historic Abilene site – the T&P Event Center. A former rail station warehouse, it was transformed by event planner Esther Gonzales into a sparkling modern reception hall complete with towering flower arrangements, white gauze draped ceilings, even a rhinestone encrusted cake.

Abilene Boudoir Session – Miss J*

I am so blessed to be able to meet beautiful, fabulous women every day. Each woman that comes into the studio has her own story, her own attitude, her own beauty! Miss J is another lovely and gorgeous woman, who was kind enough to allow me to share some of her pictures. Miss J’s session is a groom’s gift for her hubby to be – I’m certain he will love it! Now that it is Spring, we are turning up the heat on the blog with some Boudoir. This beautiful client had a Boudoir session done as a gift for her husband on their anniversary.
