Meet Kim Hurt
I've always wanted to be an artist. Whether drawing, sculpture, or photography - the medium didn't matter as long as I was creating something new. As long as I could make people feel what I felt, see the world the way I did - I felt complete.My family always encouraged my art. My Father and Grandfather were both photographers and greatly influenced the way I shoot today.
After graduating from Abilene Christian University in 2004 with a B.F.A. in Sculpture and a Minor in Fine Art Photography I worked as an artist at a bronze casting foundry in Florida. My husband Kyle and I opened Tilt Shift Studios in 2008 after moving back to Texas. Our goal was always to provide fine art wedding and portrait photography that is more than a well composed snap shot. We wanted to provide our clients with heirloom art that sums up a relationship, a single image that provides an emotional tether to a time, a place, a feeling, a family.
Today we are blessed with two children, a dog, a cat, and many loyal clients that allow us to run our business full time. God has given me a better life than I deserve.
We are members of several photography and art organization including:
* Professional Photographers of America
* Wedding and Portrait Photographers International
* Brownwood Art Association
* Brownwood Chamber of Commerce
* Austin Alternative Process Photography Guild
Why Tilt Shift Studios?
Tilt Shift is the name of a lens used primarily for correcting distorted perspective when photographing architecture. But we like to make use of it's shallow and slanted depth of field when photographing people for art's sake.
Tilt Shift was also chosen to represent our unique style. Like Robert Frost we prefer the road less traveled and as a result our work is a little more Artistic, Quirky, Dramatic, Emotional, and Fun - just like our clients!
